LEONARDO DICAPRIO

So if this isn't worthy of a blog post, I don't know what is. 

Yesterday evening, 30 Jan at aprox 7.30pm, I saw Leonardo Dicaprio! 

this is the story.

I was walking out of church, which happens to be at the Dunkirk Pub in Pyrmont and I looked up and saw a big black car parked in front of the traffic lights. I glanced into the passenger seat and caught the eye of a male in the front...he was wearing a baseball cap and was kinda slouched over in his seat. I turned to catch up with Matt who was a metre in front of me (who had just seen Leo too) and Matt whispered to me 'That's Leonardo Dicaprio in the front seat'. And I realised it was! Feeling like I was about to lose control, I ran back into the pub to catch a sneaky look through the window and realised, that indeed, I had just locked eyes with the highest paid actor in the world. 

Upon reflection, I never thought I would be one of those out of control screaming girls, but apparently I am. I even squealed to the sport watching, chip eating man beside the pub window that Leo was outside. I am slightly ashamed to admit I have been replaying the scene in my head all day. You have to understand, I am from New Zealand and no one famous lives there and I never thought I would see such a famous person ever- let alone, he would see ME!!  he even told Matt not to make a big deal of it with his eyes. That's pretty much a conversation right?

So in celebration last night of the epic sighting, I reenacted Leo over burritos to some envious friends and we watched Gangs of New York. Just to cement the dream. x

EUROPE

it's official. We are going to Europe! Matt & I were hoping to go for a friend's wedding in June but wrote if off thinking it would be too expensive but the last week we found flights from sydney---> Paris return for $1100! Insane! So we have snapped them up and I am now dreaming the Sydney summer away with Europe plans. We are planning on doing England, France and Barcelona...
Matt's mum has already promised she will shout us to DisneyLand in Paris and I have already decided I will, of course, wear stripes in France. x

So my christmas present from Matt finally arrived in the mail this week. I was literally checking the mail box every five minutes hoping it would show up. It's one of the initial rings from Etsy I've blogged about before. It's the daintiest wee thing. I have such a happy finger now! Would make such a good present between friends too. You can find them HERE.  

DO YOU BELIEVE IN FAIRIES.

For christmas Matty gave me a book from the 1940's called 'Fairies, A book of Real Fairies'. It's about two cousins who in 1917 England took a series of 5 photos allegedly proving the existence of fairies. It turned into a huge deal after the photos were sent to an author who visited the girls and after getting experts to examine the photos concluded they were genuine and fairies did exist! The book inspired hundreds of people to write in also sharing there fairy stories...

It wasn't until the 1980's that the girls admitted that the photos were faked using cardboard cutouts. They'd drawn the fairies themselves and propped them up using hat pins! So funny to think photography was such a new thing back then and what seems so obvious now won over the pro's then... Lots of people still question whether the photos were authentic despite the girls confession.. Believe what you will, we can all dream...

ARM CANDY

So I finally have this little treasure hanging off my arm! Matt let me pay it off on Sunday. Made a few modifications fringe wise.. Got going with the scissors and trimming... very happy with the result. hopefully this will keep the fringe obsession at bay for awhile! x

FRESH SIGHTS

I've been thinking on the happenings of last year as 2012 begins and I think its been rather an adventurous year.
Got married.
Went to Thailand
Moved into our own little house
Learnt how to film
Leant endless new information about film cameras and such via husby
Learnt how to dental assist
Filmed my first wedding
Started blogging
And had two hospital stints

Would probably have preferred to skip the last one but none the less it all adds to lifes discovery. Stoked for what this year will bring...

in other news, this is what my summer nights have been looking like.. Bailey's really is the best ever

                                                                                

FRINGE FEST

I just put this little treasure on layby. I think it is actually my dream bag. If I was to design a bag I hope it would be as dreamy as this. It's definitely got the fringe covered. I seem to be drawn to fringe of late. i may need to do abit of fringe trimming- with my height and this length, some floor skimming could be in action.. Can't wait till it's hanging off my arm!

I am so excited about this movie! 'My week with Marilyn'. The story of a short time in Marilyns life while she was filming 'The Prince and The Showgirl'.
Im not sure if I'm sold on Michelle Williams yet for Marilyn but eager to watch it for myself-  I so hope she can carry it off... check it out x

CHRISTMAS 2011

hello babes. I am back. Back from our two week stint in NZ.
was a sweet little getaway but only come round in the second week.  it seemed NZ had forgotten which season it was in due to about 6 straight days with rain.
